what i'm up to

Last night I went to a Korean Bath House. A Jamji bahn(?) It was quite the experience. I went with teachers Emily and Carrie. Isn't that funny! My two best friends, well Carrie spells her name differently but it's kinda odd how that worked out. The bath house is like a giant area with showers, different kinds of hot tubs (ginseng, lemon, jade etc) with different temperatures and different kinds of saunas. It's pretty cool. The catch is that it is all naked! It was so wierd. We definately got a lot of stares. The real wierdness was being naked with my co-workers not the asian.

In other news, one of our teachers left last night. Sean, the one that never got a visa so he was working illegally. he just got his flight reimbursement last night so took off after since he didn't think they'd pay him for working here.

This Saturday night I'll probably go to Seoul to see a Korean band (Dehli Spice) and meet up with Priscila, a girl I took my TESOL course with in Ottawa. If I'm not too tired on Sunday I'll go back to Daejon with her.

Tomorrow is another trip to Everland. My kids are quite excited. We'll be doing Carribean bay only this time. I'll do some hot tubs and the sauna then have a drink in the restaurant while my kids play. It'll be nice not being in the classroom.

breaking up a fight

Today two of my kids got in a real fight. Sam swore at Remuse (wierd name BTW) in Korean and then Remuse got up and starting wailing on him. Then both were on the floor kicking and punching each other. I tore them apart and took them out of the classroom. My TA wasn't around and they wouldn't tell me what the fight was about. So when Remuse calmed down I brought him back in the class and gave them both red stickers...the dreaded red stickers...3 red stickers means Jay my TA calls their parents. Then Remuse started crying even more since he said Sam started it and he didn't think he deserved a red sticker.

Tomorrow, if I don't lose my nerve, I'll be going to a traditional bathhouse with some of the other teachers. I think a lot of people will bail, including myself because one goes naked at these places. I'll let you know if that happens. Sorry but I won't be bringing my camera!

Thursday we are back at Everland. This time we can only do one of the attractions. We have opted for Carribean Bay (waterpark) so that we don't have to freeze our butts off outside again. Last time sleding was so cold.
