crossing canada

we left Victoria off to a bad start. not 5 minutes on the hwy 17 and my windshield gets a huge chip in it from the trunk in front of us. that sucks. to prove that bad luck comes in 3s we then didn't get on the 11am ferry despite being there at 10:30am on a Tuesday. How annoying. We managed to roll into Kamloops in the evening only to find that the hostel International that I really liked on the way to Victoria has shut down. We ended up at a Days Inn with a little pool etc. it was ok. the next day we drove into Banff. Not much point in skiing since we don't seem to be making good time. We took the gondola up the mtn. Great views. Got lots of nice pictures. Didn't bother doing the hot springs. I've done it before and they really don't look that special. It's just a swimming pool. On the way into Calagary we stopped at the Olympic Village. The Olympic museum was pretty crappy. Then we drove just outside of Brooks somewhere not really sure and stayed at a super 8 motel with a pool that had warm and cold patches. it felt like we were swimming in a lake or in a pool kids had pissed in! yuck. Today we stopped in Medicine Hat, Moose Jaw and now we are in Regina. Mom is phoning her friend to see if she wants to meet us for dinner.
I'm grumpy right now cause I just noticed a huge scrape on my trunk where the bike rack shifted and started scratching away the paint. My car is getting so beat up. Driving is starting to really suck.
