back at basecamp

well i'm back at basecamp now. its weird but so many people have left the camp while i've been away for 2 weeks that i feel like a bit of a stranger.
i'm debating whether or not i'll take part in the shared food system they have set up. seems to me id have better food if i just bought it myself but do i want the hassle of grocery shopping with a bicycle and then cooking for myself? It would also be quite satisfying telling Tim that i don;t want in on his shitty food.

so let me tell you of some of the adventures with the volunteers at Gerakas. for a while it was just 5 girls so we started getting very liberal and walking around topless.
us also went to the clay wall at the end of the beach one night and covered ourselves from head to toe in clay. it was pretty hilarious. i risked ruining my camera to take some photos. which you wont be seeing. another night we convinced people from basecamp to meet us at one of the towns in between gerakas and kalimaki. part way through the night 10 of us girls ran to one of the beaches to go skinny dipping. we hadn't invited the boys but they followed a bit later and sat around on the beach chairs. we had no choice but to get out of the water with an audience and the lights were at their advantage.
Emma the leader up at Gerakas is really cool. when she bought groceries she always threw in a couple of bottles of sangria. let me tell you, we ate well up there. we had prawns and shrimp one night. something you'd never see at basecamp.

i'm looking forward to monday. Julia and i have the day off and we are going to either rent bikes or a car and go exploring the island. there are some caves at the north end i'd like to check out. i can't wait. i am so sick of beach patrol at working in the stupid kiosk. im also glad im not doing beach patrol at gerakas anym0re. one of the greeks that sells drinks on the beach wanted to give me a little present if id meet him in the bushes. eck!

oh yeah, before i forget. if you haven;'t received a postcard or letter from me and you'd like one please send me your address. i probably just don;t have it.

i have 10 more days here on the island, then i'll have 3 days to check out Athens on my own before heading to India. i'm getting quite excited. the mosquitos here are starting to get a little unbearable for me. i've got one circling around my feet right now as i'm trying to type. i'm sure india will be no better. so adios for now.
